About
My name is Yousif Diwan
I have had a lifelong passion for learning and expanding knowledge which filtered into my ability to teach/tutor. My schooling started off in the International School of Choueifat (Honors System) before later completing my Bachelors in Biology PreMed at the American University of Beirut (AUB) where I graduated with distinction.
Alongside my academic endeavors, I have always been a natural at providing crucial academic advice to my friends and peers in tough situations. This helped me realize that I can use my experience to help empower and help organize and tend to the emotional and academic needs of the next generation of premeds (especially as that was my speciality). I aim to provide students with relatability and quick targeted help in spite of any tough circumstance.
In addition, my first hand experience with navigating the job market in the UAE has equipped me with core skills such as CV building that helped me land a great internship as an RA in cancer research 5 months after graduation in the tough UAE market that barely accepts external hires outside their university.
Moreover, having thoroughly researched and studied the medical school systems of the UAE, USA, and Lebanon, I managed to understand how to help university and medical school aspirants increase odds of admission into their dream school through 1:1 personalized ECC (extracurricular activities) planning, personal statement reviews, and mock interviews.
Furthermore, I can help you land your dream job or internship (highschool premed aspirants, premeds, bio, and chem undergrad majors, and recent BS graduates such as myself) through optimal methods and minimal time wasting. WHY US? I have 13 years and counting experience in teaching maths and science and have a natural knack for simplifying concepts.
I have also had provided tons of critical advice over the years helping numerous friends and clients overcome tough situations.
It has always been my passion to teach and mentor in a fun and engaging way and through embarking on this journey, you will walk out confident and secure.
My recent struggles in understanding the job market in the UAE as well as learning the ins and outs of a great univeristy application gave me all I need to help those struggling like I did. You do not have to do it alone.
I can take on almost any student from elementary to college level. I specialize in premed biology at the undergraduate level. Still, I can accommodate special requests such as maths and physics, as well as specialized standardized exams, depending on the scope offered.
